Norfolk Virginian Pilot February 25, 1937
 

Daniel B. Etheridge, aged 65, died at his residence at Oyster yesterday 
afternoon at 12:10 o’clock after a long illness. He was a son of Daniel M., and 
Mrs. Nancy Forbes Etheridge, a native of Roanoke Island, N.C., and had been in 
the employ of the U.S. Government in the Coast Guard Service for a number of 
years until ill health forced his retirement in 1932. Surviving him are two 
sons, Alfred b. Etheridge, of Portsmouth, and Preston Etheridge, of Norfolk; a 
daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Phillips, of Oyster; two brothers, John T. and Charles 
P. Etheridge, of Norfolk, and four grandchildren, all of Norfolk.

Mr. Etheridge held membership in Corinthian Lodge, A.F. and A.M. Funeral 
services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock from the funeral 
home of James V. Derry, 346 West Princess Anne Rd. Burial will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
