Norfolk Virginian Pilot October 21, 1949

George O'Connor Evans, 58, son of the late George and Mary O'Connor Evans, died 
at a Norfolk hospital yesterday at 4:25 p.m.
A real estate broker, he was a lifelong resident of Norfolk, residing at 589 
West Ocean View Avenue at the time of his death.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph S. Doran, of Norfolk and Mrs. Paul B. 
Humphreys, of Arlington; three sons, George O. Evans, Jr., Justin R. Evans, and 
Michael J. Evans, all of Norfolk; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Raymond 
Watson, of Arlington and a nephew, Richard A. Watson, of Norfolk.  
The body was taken to the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.

George O'Connor Evans - Funeral services for Mr. Evans, who died Thursday, were 
conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments yesterday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. 
Joseph W Brannan, pastor of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Burial was in St. 
Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harvey S. Byrd, Pat Lawler, L.A. Winborne, 
Luther R. Taylor, I.E. Batron and T. Annarino.
