Evans, died at the residence of his parents, No. 126 Wood Street at 1:50 o'clock yesterday afternoon after a lingering illness from typhoid fever. He was in the 18th year of his age, well known and well liked. He had a wide circle of acquaintances among the younger fraternity and was popular among older citizens. Besides a mother and father he is survived by four sisters, and two brothers. One of the latter is Frank A. Evans, a member of the city democratic executive committee from the First ward. The other brother is C.P. Evans. His sisters are: Mrs. H.T. White and the Misses Mamie, Maggie and Eloise Evans. The funeral will be held from St. Mary's Catholic Church, Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock. ***************************************************************************** The funeral of the late William Thomas Evans, whose death has been noted in these columns, was held from St. Mary's Catholic church at 9:30 a.m. yesterday, and was attended by a large concourse of the friends of the deceased. Requiem mass was celebrated by Rev. Father John D. Doherty, pastor of the church, who spoke in commendable terms of the character of the deceased. The floral tributes were very handsome. The remains were laid to rest in St. Mary’s cemetery. The pallbearers were as follows: R. R. Moore. David Donovan, C. A. Drew, P. B. Hatton, Emmett Lawler, Joseph Faber, John B. Loughran, Jr., and Thos. J. Hogan.
