Mr. Evans was born in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, April 9, 1854, and for thirty years had been a resident of Norfolk. The last thirty-five years he had been engaged in the sheet iron and roofing business. At the time of his death he was a member of the Brambleton Avenue Methodist Church. Mr. Evans was a member of the Fraternal Order of Americans and for forty-one years had been connected with this order and its predecessor organizations. Mr. Evans is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Price Evans; two daughters, Mrs. L.A. Palmer, of Washington, D.C. and Mrs. P.J. Eagan, of Norfolk; and by the following sons: Robert, Weymouth, Charles and Clay Gardner; also one brother, B.H. Evans, of Norfolk and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Brambleton Avenue Methodist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
