Clement Payne Evans — Funeral services for Captain Evans, who died Saturday at a local hospital, were held at 10 o’clock yesterday morning at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ocean View, with the Rev. R. B. Kealey, pastor, officiating. The Rev. E. P. Kilgalen and the Rev. Francis Bradican were present in the sanctuary. In his address at the conclusion of the mass, Father Kealey spoke in praise of the Christian life and character of Captain Evans. During the service Miss Mildred Meath sang “Vent Jesu,” "Jesus Keep Me Close to Thee,” and "Lead, Kindly Light,” with Miss Helen Gunn as organist. There was a very large attendance. The casket was covered with a pall of Easter lilies, red roses, baby’s breath and fern. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Harry P. Moore, W. L. Prieur, Sr., William J. Gwaltney, C. W. Hanbury, LeRoy Shulman, C. B. White, B. Gray Tunstall, Dr. M. S. Fitchett, B. B. Ferguson, Roy W. Dudley, G. Emmett Hogan, Ernest Butt, O. J. Egerton, Charles M. Etheridge, Charles J. Rudolphi, B. J. King, Henry M. Manning, M. T. Blassingham, Sr., Edward H. Church and Dr. J. C. Overby. Active pallbearers were: Dr. R. S. Kight, Capt. G. A. Massenburg, Capt. W. B. Stell, Capt. S. S. Harney, A. W. Brock, Lloyd S. Grove, A. N. Slaughter and Joseph M.
