The funeral of the late William Thomas Evans, whose death has been noted in these 
columns, was held from St. Mary's Catholic church at 9:30 a.m. yesterday, and was 
attended by a large concourse of the friends of the deceased. Requiem mass was 
celebrated by Rev. Father John D. Doherty, pastor of the church, who spoke in 
commendable terms of the character of the deceased. The floral tributes were very 
handsome. The remains were laid to rest in St. Mary’s cemetery. The pallbearers 
were as follows: R. R. Moore. David Donovan, C. A. Drew, P. B. Hatton, Emmett 
Lawler, Joseph Faber, John B. Loughran, Jr., and Thos. J. Hogan.
