A native of Petersburg, he had lived in Norfolk for 57 years. He was a charter member of the Congregational-Christian Temple and had been active in its work. He was also a member of Rathbone Lodge 56, Knights of Pythias and Industry Council 2, Order of Fraternal Americans. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Rena E McMichael and Mrs. Lucille E. Butt and a son, J.P. Evans, all of Norfolk. He resided at 948 West Ocean View Avenue. The body will be taken from the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to the Congregational-Christian Temple for funeral services tomorrow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. ************** EVANS, BATTIE HARWELL - At a local hospital, Thursday night, November 8, 1951 at 11:20 o'clock, BATTIE HARWELL EVANS, in the 91st year of his age.
