Mrs. Elizabeth Buchanan Evenson, 47, of 3560 Norland Court died in a hospital 
here Monday at 9:30 a.m.
Until her illness she taught in Barbara Jacobs Private School.
A daughter of Walter Scott and Mary Galvin Buchanan, she was a lifelong resident 
here and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Blessed Mother Sodality 
and National Council of Catholic Women.
Survivors include her widower, John Elmer Evenson; two daughters, Miss Randi 
Louise Evenson and Miss Mary Johanna Evenson of Norfolk; two brothers, John J. 
Buchanan of Norfolk and Raymond E. Buchanan of Roanoke and three sisters, Mrs. 
Paul B. Henderson of Staunton and Mrs. Catherine B. Walton and Miss Gertrude M. 
Buchanan of Norfolk.
A Rosary service will be said at her home Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. A funeral 
service will be held in Christ the King Church Thursday at 11 a.m. with burial 
in St. Mary's Cemetery.

NORFOLK — The Rosary will be recited for Mrs. Elizabeth Buchanan Evenson, wife 
of John Elmer Evenson, in her home, 3560 Norland Court, tonight at 7:30. A 
funeral service will be held in Christ the King Catholic Church Thursday at 11 
a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
