Capt. William L. Ewell, aged 85, son of Jesse and Mary Boggs Ewell, died at the res
residence of his son, J. A. Ewell, 208 West Fourteenth Street, yesterday aft
afternoon at 3:45 o'clock. Mr. Ewell was a native and lifelong resident of Nor
Norfolk. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Nettie Stockley and Miss Annie Ewe
Ewell, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Vincent Lawler, of Baltimore; four sons, W. Linwood Ewe
Ewell, of Washington, and C. F., J. A., and G. P. Ewell, of Norfolk; 26 gra
grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a brother, Thomas Ewell, of Nor
Norfolk.
The body was taken to H. D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments, 610-12 East Freemason St
Street, pending funeral arrangements.
