Jesse Thomas Ewell, aged 70, died at a local hospital Thursday afternoon at 2 
o'clock after a long illness. He was the husband of Mrs. Julia Ewell and the son 
of the late Jesse and Mary Ewell. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, 
Jesse Rudolph Ewell, of Washington, D. C., and several nieces and nephews. He was 
a lifelong resident of Norfolk. Mr. Ewell had been retired for some time from the 
St. Julian Ordinance Depot. The body has been taken to the funeral home of Paul B. 
Warren & Son, 1102 Colonial avenue.
