He was a native of Norfolk and a son of Jesse Thomas and Mrs. Julia Munden Ewell. He was a member of Larchmont Methodist Church. He retired in 1958 from the Traffic Department of the Civil Service Bureau in Washington. He attended schools in Norfolk, Virginia Military Institute and the University of Virginia. He was an Army Veteran of World Wars I and II and was discharged as a Captain at the end of World War II. His only survivors are cousins, one of which is Mrs. Robert B. Boyce, with whom he lived at Virginia Beach. A funeral service will be conducted in Cox Funeral Home Sunday at 2 p. m. by Dr. C. Fred Williams of Larchmont Methodist Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
