Virginian-Pilot February 1, 1920
Mrs. Mary E. Ewell, aged 69 years, the widow of John N. Ewell, died at 3 o'clock 
yesterday afternoon. Her funeral will take place from the H. D. Oliver funeral 
apartments at noon Monday, the services being conducted by Rev. John E. Wales. 
Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.
Mrs. Ewell was a native of Princess Anne county and had spent practically her 
entire life here and had a host of friends. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. A. 
V. Dozier; by her nieces, Mrs. N. R Joynes and Miss Mattie Dozier; and by her 
nephew, Ellis Noe.
