Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark Friday, January 13, 1933

Oscar Wilson Ewell, aged 56, husband of Sallie Brown Ewell, died at the 
residence, 61 D View avenue, yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock.  Besides his wife 
he is survived by two daughters, Miss Lois L. Ewell and Mrs. W.B. Middleton; a 
son, Oscar V. Ewell, all of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Hezekiah Green, of Dews 
Quarter Island, N.C.; a brother, J.L. Ewell, of Creeds and a number of nieces 
and nephews.  He was a native of Princess Anne County and had been a resident of 
Norfolk for the last 40 years.  He was a member of the Ocean View Baptist 
Church, Fleet Reserve Branch and the Spanish-American War Veterans.
The body will be taken from the residence to the Ocean View Baptist Church for 
funeral services Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock.  Burial will be in Forest Lawn 
Cemetery.
