Virginian-Pilot  August 24, 1924
John Lewis Faber, aged 68 years, died last night at 6:30 o’clock at a local 
hospital. He was a native of Boston, but had been a resident of Norfolk for 38 
years. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. Surviving him are two 
daughters, Mrs. William H. Lauder and Mrs. R. V. Steele; one son, Joseph L. Faber; 
one grandchild, Robert V. Steele, and a brother, J. J. Faber, of Washington, D.C. 
Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Monday morning at 11 
o’clock. Interment will be In St. Mary's Cemetery, Rev. Thomas E. Waters 
officiating.
