Virginian Pilot February 1, 1998

Ludwell Baldwin Fairchild, 51, of Atlanta, died Jan. 27, 1998.
Mr. Fairchild was a member of Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta. He also 
belonged to the society of Colonial Wars and as a member of the Piedmont Driving 
Club.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Fairchild of Atlanta; a son, Ludwell 
Baldwin Fairchild Jr. of Atlanta; a daughter, Lee Ferguson Fairchild of Atlanta; 
his father, Jack C. Fairchild of Atlanta; two brothers, J. Clinton Fairchild Jr. 
and his wife, Barbara, of Atlanta, Inman Payne Fairchild and his wife, Carolyn, 
of Cartersville, Ga.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday Feb. 2, 1998 in Elmwood 
Cemetery by the Rev. James W.H. Sell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests 
donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 
Norfolk Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
