The Norfolk Virginian Pilot July 31, 1937
Emmett Bates Faison, husband of Mrs. Mary Bosman Faison, a native of 
Portsmouth, and well known in this section, died yesterday afternoon at 2:30 
o'clock at East Orange, N.J., where had resided for a number of years.  Besides 
his wife he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John Griese; one son, Emmett 
Bates Faison, Jr.; four sisters, Mrs. D.C. Berryman, of Smithfield; Mrs. Leroy 
Hancock, Mrs. Willie Gwinn and Miss Mary Faison, and one brother, Herbert 
Faison, all of Portsmouth.  Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
