Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, November 29, 2001 
Pearl Brooks-Sands Faison of the 2200 block of Pershing Ave. died peacefully on
Nov. 26, 2001. She was a native of Norfolk born to the late Fred and Elouise
Brooks on Sept. 23, 1936.

Pearl loved God, family and church family. She was an active member of Living
Waters Ministries in Norfolk.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James Faison Jr.; 11 children:
five daughters and six sons, Angela Beckette, Phyllis Dixon, Charles Sands, Fred
Sands, Thomas Sands, Anthony Sands, Donnell Sands, Jeanette Sands, John Sands,
Shenia Hayes, Towanda Lynn; a sister, Shirley Brooks Day; a brother, Nathaniel
Brooks; 27 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of others she loved
as her own.

A homegoing service will be conducted at noon Friday at Riddick Funeral Service
Chapel. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. and a wake will be held from 6 to 7
p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery .
