Faison - Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Jackson Faison, who died Sunday, March 2, after a lengthy illness, were held Wednesday, March 5, at the Union Christian Church with the Rev. R. J. Alston, pastor of St. Mark’s Congregational Christian Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. J. R. Johnson, Jr., pastor of St. John’s AME Church. Mrs. Faison is survived by her husband, Preston Faison of Norfolk; six daughters, Mrs. James E. Hunter, Mrs. Raleigh Goodman, Norfolk; Mrs. Knolly Mitchell, Mrs. Inez Waddy, Mrs. James of New York City. Also, two sons, Ernest Faison and Walter Faison of New York City; three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Shaw of LaGrange NC, Mrs. Missouri Sith of Goldsboro NC, and Mrs Susie Cooper of Norfolk; two brothers, Edward Jackson of Jamaica, NY., and James Jackson of Norfolk. Also, five grandchildren, Miss Geraldine Faison of New York City, Mrs. James E. Young of Roxbury, MA, Mrs. Charles Carbello of Norfolk; Ernest Faison, Jr, and Deborrah Duke of New York City, and three great grandchildren. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.
