June 9, 2017 William (Bill) Joseph Fallon, 50, passed away unexpectedly on June 7, 2017. Bill was a native of Pittsburgh, PA and was a Peninsula resident for more than 30 years. He was the seventh of ten children born to Robert Fallon (deceased) and Patricia Fallon. Bill graduated from the Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) Apprentice School as an Outside Machinist. He later went on to receive a bachelor's degree from Averett University. He was a 32 year shipbuilder and his most recent assignment at NNS was as a Project Manager Analyst in the Virginia Class Submarine Program. Bill was predeceased by his father, Robert Fallon, sister, Shauna Fallon, brother, Brian Fallon and father-in-law, Phillip Glynn. He is survived by his wife, Shiela, his children, Chloe, Ethan, Rose, Gianna and Joseph, his mother, Patricia Fallon, his brothers, Bob (Alma) Fallon, Barry (Jinnesca) Fallon, Brandon (Agata) Fallon and his sisters Cindy (Jon) Hauris, Joyce Walsh, Patty (Mark) Schnupp and Maura (Paul) Rodgers and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Bill was a fun loving, kind hearted soul with an incredible sense of humor. He was a loving husband, an amazing father and family man and was always quick to volunteer to help others. He was a 1st Degree Knight, Knights of Columbus Council 511 for decades. Bill was a member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Hampton where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and coordinated One Harvest Food Ministries as well as numerous other volunteer activities. The family will receive friends from 6 - 7:30 pm on Friday June 9, 2017 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA 23669. The Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, June 10 at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church and following Mass there will be a reception at the church.
