Norfolk - A funeral service for Mrs. Minerva Fanning of 731 Chapel street, who
died June 3 in a hospital, was held Thursday in Graves Funeral Chapel by Elder
Queenie Barton.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Fanning, a native of Halifax County, NC, was a retired registered nurse and
a member of Antioch Baptist Church.  she was the wife of Dewey Fanning Sr. and a
daughter of the late Dudley Johnson and Mrs. Carrie Johnson.

Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, Dewey Fanning Jr., of Norfolk, and
three sisters, Mrs. Essie Hoggard and Mrs. Connie Hammond of Norfolk and Miss
Hattie Johnson of Baltimore.
