Fantone, aged 71, son of the late Peter and Martha Butt Fantone, died yesterday afternoon at 1:10 o'clock at a local hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk. Mr. Fantone was stage carpenter at the old Academy of Music for a number of years, succeeding the late Frank White and was a member of Norfolk Lodge No. 38, B.P.O.E. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. W.M. Newstead; one brother, John S. Fantone and a number of nieces and nephews. The body will be taken from the residence, 330 Maltby Avenue, to St. Mary's Catholic Church for funeral services Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. ************************************************************************** Caroleen C. Fantone —- Funeral services for Mr. Fantone, whose death occurred Wednesday at a local hospital, were held at 10 o’clock yesterday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Rev. A. J. Taylor, officiating. The Rev. P. P. Brennan, the Rev. E. A. Brosnan, and the Rev. M. J. Hartigan were in the sanctuary. At the conclusion of the mass, Father Taylor spoke at length of the importance of being prepared for death. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. The casket was covered with clusters of roses, carnations, peonies and ferns. During the service, several selections were sung by the choir of St. Mary’s Female Academy. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The pallbearers were Claude V. Fantone, James E. Fantone, Hugh F. Fantone, William H. Fantone, Caroleen H. Fantone, Joseph Fantone, Edgar J. Winter and Festus W. Thompson, all family connections of the deceased.
