Ocean View Ave., a retired forwarding agent, died Jan. 9, 1990, in his home. Mr. Fantone, a native of Norfolk, had retired from W.M. Stone & Co. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and of Father Kealy Council, Knights of Columbus 3548. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Gimbert Fantone; five daughters, Shirley C. DiDomenico of Norfolk, Nancy F. Owen and Ida R. Roberson, both of Virginia Beach, and Dorothy L. Parker and Patricia Zito, both of Colonial Heights; a son, Joseph Fantone Jr., of Norfolk; 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. A Joyful Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph Slattery. Entombment will be in St Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. A Christian wake service will be at 7 p.m. today in the church. Friends may join the family at 142 Lafayette Ave. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, is handling arrangements.
