Virginian-Pilot  December 30, 1899
The obsequies of this well known gentleman, who passed away at the home of his 
brother-in-law, Mr. W. N. Newstead, No. 303 Maltby avenue, Wednesday, were held 
from St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10 o’clock a.m. yesterday. Requiem mass was 
celebrated by Rev. Father J. J. Doherty. The floral tributes were very handsome. 
The remains were laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Following were the 
pallbearers: A. Lagoria, John F. Lawler, A. M. Conk, M. McKevltt, Stephen Hogan, 
C. S. Barclay and E. E. Stone.
