The Norfolk Virginian Pilot February 28, 1947


Mrs. Annie Jenkins Farant, 80, widow of William B. Farant and daughter of the 
late Charles E. and Mrs. Eliza Benson Jenkins, a native of Portsmouth and a 
lifelong resident of this section, died yesterday at 6:50 a.m. at the 
residence, 638 Graydon Park.
Surviving are two daughters, Miss Annie Jenkins Farant and Mrs. Mary F. 
Ferbee, one son, William B. Farant, Jr., two grandchildren and one great-
grandchild, all of Norfolk.
Services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments today at 3:30 
p.m. by the Rev. Sparks W. Melton, D.D., pastor of Freemason Street Baptist 
Church, of which Mrs. Farant was a member, officiating. Interment will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
