C.B. FARLEY, SPANISH WAR VET, DIES

Charles Barr Farley, 83, Spanish-American War veteran, and hotel and restaurant 
employe most of his life, died Saturday at 11:15 a.m. in a Jacksonville, Fla. 
hospital.
He was the husband of the late Mrs. Beulah Twiford Farley.  His late parents 
were Charles B. and Mrs. Susan Elizabeth Farley.
A native of Petersburg, he had lived in Norfolk most of his life.  He formerly 
resided in the 3100 block of Lens avenue, Fairmount Park.
He was a past commander of Major Marshall Tarrall Camp 5, United Spanish War 
Veterans; past deputy commander of Virginia 7th Army Corps and was quartermaster 
of Co. B, 4th Virginia Volunteer Infantry.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ralph T. Fulgham of Holland and Mrs. Fred 
G. Bingham of Norfolk; one son, Hugh T. Farley of Norfolk; three grandchildren; 
Hugh B. Farley of Richmond, Miss Diane C. Fulgham and Miss Kathleen Fulgham, 
both of Holland; an aunt, Mrs. S.J. Proescher of Norfolk; two great-
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The body of Charles Barr Farley will be taken from the Hollomon-Brown Funeral 
Home to the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany for funeral services Tuesday at 3 
p.m. conducted by the Rev. Joseph W. Buchanan, rector.  Burial will be in Cedar 
Grove Cemetery.
