Virginian Pilot October 17, 1962

Mrs. Carrie N. Farrar, 82, of 1700 Hampton Blvd., widow of Thomas R. Farrar and 
daughter of Burwell B. and Mrs. Frances Smith Bobbitt, died Tuesday at 1:40 
p.m.  in a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Farrar, a native of Petersburg and a resident of Norfolk 20 years, was a 
member of Epworth Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Miss Frances W. Norsworthy of Norfolk and three 
sisters, Mrs. Lena A. Leake, of Lovingston, Mrs. S.D. King of Littleton, N.C., 
and Mrs. Olive B. Rockefeller of Urbana, Ohio.
A funeral service will be held in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Thursday at 3 
p.m. by the Rev. Reuben Blevin of Epworth Methodist Church. Burial in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
