Virginian-Pilot  November 7, 1920
The funeral of James P. Farren took place yesterday morning at Saint Mary's 
Catholic Church and was conducted by Rev. Joseph Rooney, assisted by Monsignor 
O’Farrell, of Saint Mary’s, and Rev. Father Irwin of North Carolina. Mrs. James 
Hughes sang, “Abide With Me." Burial was in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, the pallbearers 
being: F. M. Barron, J. M. Brennan, L. Knapp. J. W Walker, W. O. Williamson and J. 
F. Tatem, all being police sergeants.
