Faulkner, a deacon of First Baptist Church, Bute street, were conducted Feb. 7 in the church with the Rev. E. Paul Simms delivering the eulogy. Mr. Faulkner died Feb. 3 in a local hospital. A native of Warren Plains, NC, he was custodian of Ohef Sholom Temple 22 years. He was the husband of Mrs. Ella Mosby Faulkner and a son of Edward and Mrs. Elizabeth Faulkner. He resided at 2509 Barre avenue. Assisting at the rites were Rabbi H. D. Hahn of Ohef Sholom Temple, the Rev. Harvey N. Johnson of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and the Rev. J. Jasper Freeman of Queen Street Baptist Church. Besides his widow, Mr. Faulkner is survived by three sons, Isaac D. Faulkner of Charlottesville, Charles D. Faulkner of Norfolk and Donald W. Faulkner of New York; two daughters, Mrs. Almeda Lightfoot of Chesapeake and Mrs. Ella Elizabeth Bullock of Norfolk, two sisters, Mrs. Elnora Pinckett and Mrs. Hattie Scott of Philadelphia; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home handling the arrangements.
