Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch September 20, 1913
Manuel D. Fearear died at 6 o'clock last evening, at his home, 229 34th street, in 
his seventy-second year. He was a native of Portugal, and had lived in Norfolk 
twenty-six years, being a retired merchant. He is survived by his wife, two 
daughters, Mrs. W. J. Thomas, of Richmond, and Miss Jean Fearear, of Norfolk, and 
a son, William C. Fearear, of Norfolk. Mrs. Thomas arrived here just before her 
father passed away. The funeral occurs at 4 p.m. tomorrow, at the residence, Rev. 
G. S. Vest officiating. Interment in Elmwood cemetery.
