Norfolk Virginian Pilot August 17, 1942

Miss Rose Fearon, aged 82, daughter of the late Bryan and Mrs. Mary McAdara 
Fearon, died at Baltimore Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. She was a native of 
County Louth, Ireland and a former resident of Norfolk, and had resided in 
Baltimore for several years. She is survived by one niece, Mrs. W.J. Walsh, of 
Norfolk; three nephews, Edward J. and Thomas P. King, both of Cincinnati and 
Bernard J. King, of Norfolk and a cousin, Mrs. Charles E. Purdy, of Norfolk.
The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial 
Avenue, Norfolk, to St. Mary's Catholic Church for funeral services, Tuesday 
morning at 9:30 o'clock. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary services 
will be held at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments tonight at 8 o'clock.

Miss Rose Fearon — Funeral services for Miss Fearon, who died Saturday at 
Baltimore, Md., were held at 9:30 o’clock Tuesday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic 
Church with the Rev. P. C. Blackburn, pastor, officiating. The Rev. P. P. 
Brennan was present in the sanctuary. In his address at the conclusion of the 
mass, Father Blackburn paid tribute to the Christian life and character of the 
deceased. Several selections were rendered during the service by the choir of 
St. Mary’s Academy, with Mrs. Joseph Lex, as organist. Interment was in St. 
Mary’s Cemetery. The pallbearers were Charles E. Purdy, Sr., Sam Crowling, John 
E. Milan, John Joseph Baecher and J. S. Thatch.
