Magistrate Carmine, of the county, declares that the body was simply moved, by his orders, from its position just beside the track to a plot of grass about twenty feet distant to prevent other trains from striking it. The Virginian-Pilot has received the following telegram, which was answered: Escanaba. Michigan, November 25, 1902. Please wire name of railroad and place of accident which killed Joseph Feldsmith, mentioned in your paper yesterday. Where are remains? (Signed) MRS. M. D. FELDSMITH. Undertaker H. C. Smith, who still has the remains in charge, later received a dispatch from Mrs. Feldsmith telling him to hold the body pending another message which would give instructions for their disposition.
