He was a native of Norfolk, Va. He was a son of C. Wesley and Mrs. Effie Eley Fentress. He was a veteran of World War I, serving overseas with the University of Virginia Hospital Unit. He was a Mason and a member of the American Legion. Survivors include one son, Thomas D. Fentress Jr. of Eaton Town, N.J., one sister, Mrs. Robert L. Lemen of Baltimore, Md.; two brothers, C. Wesley Fentress Jr. of Norfolk and Arthur L. Fentress of Baton Rouge, La.; one niece and two nephews. The body will be sent to Norfolk after cremation. A memorial service will be held there at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Friday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk.
