NORFOLK - Mrs. Bettie Taylor Fentress, 89, of 1816 Springfield Ave., wife of 
Isaac N. Fentress and daughter of Malachi C. and Mrs. Nancy Leary Taylor, died 
in a hospital Thursday at 8:45 a.m.
A native of Coinjock, N.C., she lived in Norfolk 65 years. She was a member of 
Freemason Street Baptist Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Robert P. Fentress, a 
granddaughter, Mrs. Edward C. Johnson, a grandson, Edward C. Johnston, and a 
granddaughter, Miss Nancy Taylor Johnston, all of Norfolk.
A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Saturday at 3 
p.m. by the Rev. Thomas A. Russell of Freemason Street Baptist Church. Burial 
will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will be at the home of the son, 206, Oak 
Grove Road.
