Virginian-Pilot October 26, 1923
David Floyd Fentress — Funeral services for Mr. Fentress were conducted yesterday 
afternoon at 2 o'clock at McKendree Methodist Church by the Rev. J. Arthur Winn, 
pastor of the church, and the Rev. T. R. Reeves, pastor of Monumental Methodist 
Church, Portsmouth. During the services, Mordaunt Etheridge sang, “Abide With Me." 
There were many in attendance and the floral offerings were numerous and 
beautiful. Pallbearers were J. W. Halstead, W. D. Nye, O. L. Shipp, R. T. 
Eggleston, E. L. Whitehurst, W. E. Shipp, L. W. Stagg and N. W. Williams. Burial 
was in Elmwood Cemetery.
