Norfolk-Virginian, November 4, 1944
Joseph Thomas Fentress, 76, husband of Mrs. Daisy A. Fentress, died at a R
Richmond hospital last night at 7:10 o'clock after a short illness. He was a s
son of Nathan W. and Susan J. Berry and when a small boy was adopted by J
Jeremiah and Cornelia Fentress. He was born in Portsmouth December 15, 1867,
Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Florence Grigg of Richmond; four 
sons, Judge Willis V. Fentress and Thomas W. Fentress, both of Norfolk; Joseph 
Harry Fentress, USA, overseas, and Garland W. Fentress of Richmond; eight 
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren of Norfolk.
Funeral services will be held at the Bennett Funeral Home, Richmond, Sunday 
morning at 10 o'clock. The body will be brought to Norfolk by motor. Burial 
services will be held at the grave in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Norfolk, tomorrow 
at 2:30 o'clock,
