Virginian-Pilot  November 29, 1942
John Joseph Fentress, aged 10, son of Jesse Edward and the late Mrs. Hilda 
Evangeline Genscha Fentress, died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 4:53 
o'clock. Besides his father, Jesse Edward Fentress, who resides at 814 Holt 
street, he is survived by one brother, Edward Fentress; two sisters, Hilda and 
Judith Fentress; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Thelma Genscha, and two aunts, 
Mrs. G. D. Moots, and Mrs. H. W. Vaughan, all of Norfolk.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial 
avenue, to St. Mary's Catholic Church, of which the deceased was a member, for 
funeral services tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments 
tonight at 7 o’clock.
