VIRGINIA BEACH - Francis K. Ferebee, 82, died Oct. 13, 2005. He was born in 
Norfolk and was the son of the late Oscar Benson Ferebee Sr. and Florence 
Swingley Ferebee.
He was designated a naval aviator during World War II and graduated from the 
School of Commerce at the University of Virginia in 1949. He was a member and 
elder of Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church in Norfolk and member and 
supporter of many civic and business organizations.
He was a Chartered Life Underwriter and a registered Investment Adviser, a 
founding member of the Insurance and Financial Services Center, Old Dominion 
University, as well as the Tidewater Estate Planning Council. He was an agent 
and broker for almost 50 years and retired as General Agent Emeritus with 
Connecticut Mutual Life.
He is survived by his wife, Norva Williamson Ferebee of Virginia Beach; his son, 
F. Ken Ferebee Jr. of Virginia; daughter, Kim Ferebee Leider of Colorado; his 
brother, Oscar B. Ferebee Jr. and his wife, Sandra Ferebee of Virginia Beach; 
brothers, David S. Ferebee and John T. Ferebee and his wife, Meredith S. Ferebee 
of Virginia Beach; and his sister, Ann E. Ferebee of New York City. He is also 
survived by his grandson, Connor K. Leider; granddaughter, Jennifer P. Ferebee; 
great-granddaughter, Sarah Ferebee and great-grandson, Samuel H. Nassar.
A memorial service will be held at Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church at noon 
Tuesday with the Rev. John Monroe officiating. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 
Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
