M. FEREBEE Cornelius Mackie Ferebee, a well-known attorney of Elizabeth City, N.C., died at the Sarah Leigh hospital, Norfolk, yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock after several days' illness of typhoid pneumonia. The deceased had been in failing health some time previous to the attack, the result of which was by no means unexpected by his many friends. He was forty-three years of age September 30, and had been practicing his profession in Elizabeth City about twenty years, during which time he had become conspicuous for his business ability. He was also the chief promoter of the proposed Elizabeth City-Norfolk electric railway, for which a charter had been secured from the legislature of his state. He graduated at Chapel Hill, N. C. and took a post-graduate course at the law school of the University of Virginia and in both institutions won distinctions of honor by standing at the head of his classes. He was a son of the late Thomas Cooper Ferebee and Mrs. Bettie Wallace Ferebee, by whom he is survived. He also leaves four brothers--Wallace C., Calvert C., Thomas C., John G.--and three sisters, Mrs. W.L. Berkley, of this place; Mrs. George W. Angus, Elizabeth, N.J. and Miss Elizabeth M. Ferebee, of this place. He was a native of (Glencore) Norfolk county, Va. and was well known in this place, he having been a frequent visitor here for quite a number of years. The funeral services will be conducted from his mother's residence, 108 Pine street, Sunday morning at 10 o'clock. The place of interment will be announced later. **************************************************************** The funeral of the late Cornelius Mackie Ferebee will be conducted from the residence of his mother, Mrs. Bettie W. Ferebee, No. 108 Pine street, this morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Robert Gatewood, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, will be the officiating minister, and the interment will be in Magnolia cemetery.
