Ferguson, of Atlantic City, was painly visible at the funeral held at Colley Memorial Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon, the building being filled to its utmost capacity by friends of the deceased from all parts of the city, who assembled to pay the last tribute of respect to one who in life endeared himself to all with whom he was associated. Many of his old comrades in arms during the late war were present. The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. C.W. Maxwell, assisted by Rev. Dr. H.E. Johnson, of Cumberland Street M.E. church, and Rev. W.T. Williams, of LeKies Memorial. Each spoke in eulogistic terms of the deceased. During their remarks many in the audience were visibly affected. There were a large number of beautiful floral designs. The remains were laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery. Following were the pall-bearers: Mayor C. Brooks Johnston, W.C. Dickson, W.J. Butt, Walter F. Smiley, E. Camp, S.D. Hope, D. Blackwood and Augustus Miller.
