Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, February 4, 1999 
The Rev. Ernest Nathaniel Ferguson of the 900 block of W. 26th St. died Jan. 30,
1999, at his residence.

Born in Portsmouth, he was a custodian for Norfolk State University and served
in the Army Air Corp. He was a member of St. Mark R.Z.U.A. Church where he was
an associate pastor.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Ferguson; two daughters, Martha Brown
of Norfolk and Helen Ferguson of Virginia Beach; three sons, Ernest H. Ferguson
of Hampton, Albert F. Ferguson of Portsmouth and Larry T. Ferguson of State
College, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of other
relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at noon Saturday at St. Mark R.Z.U.A. Church by the Rev.
Alvin Ben Thomas. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The remains will be ready
for viewing Friday from 3:30 to 8 p.m. The body will be taken to the church at
10 a.m. The family will assemble at the residence at 11 a.m. for the procession
to the church. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling
arrangements.
