NORFOLK — Mrs. Lelia Owens Ferratt, 78, of 916 Spotswood Ave., the widow of John 
Powell Ferratt Sr., and a native of Portsmouth, died Sunday in a hospital.
She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Westminster Eastern Star 
Chapter 99, Supreme Council, Order of the Amaranth, and the American Association 
of Retired Persons.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Albert T. Leggett of Virginia Beach; a son, 
John Powell Ferratt Jr. of Annandale; three sisters, Mrs. J. R. Philpott and 
Mrs. W. E. Fisk of Norfolk, and Mrs. J. H. A. Edwards of Portsmouth; and five 
grandchildren.
A funeral will be held today at 11 a.m. in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 
Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. Roger C. Snyder of St. Andrew's Church. Eastern 
Star rites will be conducted after the funeral in the funeral home. Burial will 
be in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. 
Albert T. Leggett of 5249 Rolleston Drive, Fairfield, Virginia Beach. The family 
suggests that memorial donations may be made to the Heart Fund.
