The Norfolk Virginian Pilot August 3, 1939
Mrs. Adelia N. Ferrell, aged 72, died at the residence of her sister-in-law, 
Carrie L. Gilbert, 736 East Twenty-fifth street, at 3 o'clock yesterday 
morning.  She was a native of Norfolk County, spending most of her life in 
Berkley.  She was the daughter of Timothy and Maria Walker Gilbert and widow of 
John Ferrell.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C. B. Roberts, of Franklin, and Miss 
Gertie Sears, of Norfolk; two sons, Robert and Edward Sears, of Norfolk; two 
sisters, Mrs. Olis Hines, of Berkley, and Mrs. Francis Flemming, of Norfolk; 
three brothers, Charles, Moody and William Gilbert, of St. Brides, Norfolk 
County.

The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, Jackson and Jefferson streets, 
South Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 4 
o'clock.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
