Ferris, daughter of James J. and the late Mary Ferris, died at her home, 104 Bermuda Street, at 11 o'clock Monday night in the thirty-fifth year of her age. The deceased had been in feeble health for more than twelve months but her fatal illness was only of one week's duration. She was a lady of many beautiful traits of character, of gentle and amiable disposition and her untimely demise will be mourned by a wide circle of friends. She was born in Norfolk where she has resided her entire life. Besides her father, she is survived by two sisters. The time and place of funeral is yet to be announced. *************************************************************************** The funeral of Miss Sallie Ferris was held from St. Mary’s Catholic church at 10 o’clock yesterday morning and was largely attended. Requiem mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Doherty, pastor of the church. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. The remains were laid to rest in St. Mary's cemetery. Following were the pallbearers: John Finnegan, J. C. W. Gregory, T. B. Hatton, W. E. Tyree, C. E. Bennett, John Hennelly, Burke Hickey and James C. Gordon.
