Daniel Joseph Festa, 84, of the 1300 block of Elk Ave., died June 5, 1992, in his 
home.

Mr. Festa was born in Portsmouth. He had retired as manager of the shoe repair 
shop at the Norfolk Naval Base after 40 years. He was the widower of Minnie 
Toscano Festa. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Roma Lodge and 
Italo-American Citizens Lodge.

Survivors include a daughter, Rose Marie Howlett of Norfolk; six sisters, Grace 
Ferri and Teresa Hopkins, both of Portsmouth, Marie Toscano of Norfolk, Margaret 
Gregory of Chesapeake, Angelina Hughes of Virginia Beach and Virginia Miller of 
Coral Springs, Fla.; three brothers, Andrew Festa of Norfolk, Ralph Festa of 
Portsmouth and Anthony Festa of Port Charlotte, Fla.; five grandchildren; and 10 
great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Pius X 
Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may join the 
family from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk. 
Memorial donations may be may to the church or to the Southampton Roads Chapter of 
The American Diabetes Association.
