Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark August 12, 1929

Mrs. Maria Tollaro Ficarra, aged 71, widow of Thomas Ficarra, died at the 
residence of her son-in-law, Angelo Sansone, 319 West Twenty-ninth Street, 
yesterday morning at 4 o'clock. A native of Patti Italy, and a well known 
resident of Norfolk for the past 18 years, she is survived by four daughters, 
Mrs. Antonia Lavena, of Patti; Mrs. Sarah Griffo, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Mrs. Mary 
Vescosi, of Long Island and Mrs. Angelo Sansone, of Norfolk; two sons, Joseph 
and Frank Ficarra, of Norfolk, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church tomorrow 
morning at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

319 West 29th street, Sunday, Aug. 11th, 1929, at 4 o’clock a.m., MARIA TOLLARO, 
widow of Thomas Ficarra, in the 72nd year of her age.
Funeral services at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church TUESDAY MORNING at 10 
o'clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment St. Mary’s 
Cemetery.
