Albert Field, a well-known and popular citizen, suffered a distressing bereavement Sunday in the loss by death of his wife, Mrs. Caroline W. Field, and also his infant child, the latter at 6 a.m. and the former at 6:50 p.m. Mrs. Field was the youngest daughter of Dr. Richard P. Walton, of this city. She was only 22 years of age and was a lady of beautiful characteristics and endearing qualities. Her death is a terrible blow to the husband and other immediate relatives and a large circle of admiring friends. The double funeral will take place at 4 p.m. tomorrow from Park Avenue Presbyterian Church, Brambleton Ward. ***************************************************************************** The funeral of Mrs. Caroline W. Field, wife of Mr. C. Albert Field and daughter of Dr. R. P. Walton, took place, together with that of her infant child, at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon from the Park Avenue Presbyterian Church, Brambleton ward, and was very largely attended. The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. B. McCluer, assisted by Rev. George D. Armstrong, D.D., Rev. R. A. Robinson and Rev. Mr. Miller. It was a very sad occasion, the babe being in the coffin with the mother. At the conclusion of the solemn service, the remains were borne to Elmwood Cemetery and interred. The following gentlemen were the pallbearers: Messrs. F. D. Pinkerton, H. B. Bagnall, A. Jeffers, David Corprew, I. P. Jernigan, William H. Sterling, John W. Barber and E. E. Hall. The floral tributes were very beautiful.
