Norfolk - Mrs. Eloise Fields, 66, of 793 W. 51st street, died Saturday in a 
hospital.  A native of Norfolk, she was the widow of Grant Fields and a daughter 
of Joseph and Mrs. Kate Thorogood Haywood.

She worked at Norfolk General Hospital more than 20 years and was a member of 
St. John AME Church, Bute street, and Ideal Lodge, and was organist for 25 years 
in several churches.

She was a graduate of Julliard School of Music in New York.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Vinson, and three brothers, Decoven 
Martin, Walter Martin and William W. Stewart, all of Norfolk;  and six 
grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Thursday, April 6 in St. John AME Church by the Rev. 
A. R. Powell.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with B. F. King Funeral Home in 
charge.
