Virginian Pilot August 12, 1903

The funeral of Elmer Bernard, the 19-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. B.H. Fields, 
who died Monday morning, at 5:40 o'clock, after a two-weeks sickness at the family 
residence in Oaksdale, was conducted from the residence yesterday morning at 9 
o'clock.  Rev. P.S.C. Davis, pastor of South Norfolk Baptist Church preached the 
funeral services, after which the interment was in Magnolia Cemetery.
