Finegan and son of the late James J. and Elizabeth Finegan, died at Mackeys, N.C. last night at 10:17 o'clock. Mr. Finegan was a native of Richmond, a resident of Norfolk for 40 years and recently had been residing at Mackeys. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Purnell Hall Guard and Miss Ann Laine Finegan, a son, John Joseph Finegan, Jr. and two grandchildren, all of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. M.E. Koster, Mrs. James G. Walker and Mrs. K.C. Fox, all of Richmond and two brothers, W.B. Finegan, of Richmond and Frank G. Finegan of Norfolk. The body will be brought to Norfolk and taken to H.D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments, 610-12 East Freemason Street, pending funeral arrangements. ************************************************************************** John Joseph Finegan — Funeral services for Mr. Finegan, whose death occurred Sunday night at Mackeys, N.C. were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, yesterday morning at 10 o'clock, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Thomas E. Waters, pastor, officiating. The Rev. Paul V. Heller and the Rev. J. O. Schmidhauser were present in the sanctuary. During the service, Mrs. Starke A. Sutton sang, “Abide With Me,” with Prof. J. Harvey Stevens, accompanist. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. The casket was covered with a pall of pink roses, calla lilies and fern. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Services at the grave were conducted by the Rev. Paul V. Heller. The pallbearers were Charles E. Flaherty, Joseph J. Carty, James Sullivan, Edward McConnehey, James Hatton, John Cullen, W. A. Seddinger, J. J. Coleman and William Ralston.
