Virginian-Pilot April 13, 1960
NORFOLK — Mrs. Emma Sawyer Fitchett, 90, widow of William J. Fitchett and a 
daughter of James M. and Mrs. Louisa Duncan Sawyer, a native of Norfolk County 
and a resident of Norfolk most of her life, died Tuesday at 9 a.m. in Baptist 
Hospital, Culpeper.
She was a member of Park Place Baptist Church and Virginia Chapter 22, Order of 
the Eastern Star.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ethel F. Etheridge, and one grandson, William 
B. Etheridge, both of Norfolk.
The body will be brought to Norfolk for a funeral service at the grave in 
Elmwood Cemetery today at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Henry W. Tiffany, D.D., pastor of 
Park Place Baptist Church.
